2015-08-17 20:49

On 14th August, Ambassador Huang Xingyuan, together with Kamla Persad-Bissessar,Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago cut the ribbon for the Commissioning Ceremony of Couva Children’s Hospital and delivered congratulations remarks. Many Members of Parliament and local residents were present to join the celebration.

Ambassador Huang stressed that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Bissessar witnessed the sod-turning of the Couva Children’s Hospital during President Xi’s visit to Trinidad and Tobago in 2013, and both leaders attach great importance to this project. The completion of the construction of the hospital highlights the bilateral trade relations again. This cooperation not only symbolizes our friendship, but also demonstrates both Governments ‘commitment to people’s welfare, while it shows that the demand of Trinidadian people can be satisfied with Chinese talents, technologies, speed and quality.

Prime Minister Bissessar expressed her gratitude towards the Chinese Government on behalf of her Government and People for bringing this dream into reality, speaking highly of the construction works by Chinese companies. She welcomed more capital and technologies from China to participate in the development of Trinidadian society.
